Backblaze Adds US East Region to B2 Cloud Storage

One of the reasons many people would hesitate moving to Backblaze B2 cloud storage was the fact that they only offered two data regions where your data was stored. One in the western US and one in the EU. Well that has now changed. Backblaze has finally added a US east region to customers using B2. This is great news for those that are on the east.

People that already have a Backblaze B2 account it appears you can replicate your data to the new east data region. If you want to move it appears you will need to create a new account and select the new region. If you do decide to replicate your data there are no egress fees across the Backblaze platform for Cloud Replication. If you create a new account and upload your data to the east region you will need to pay for that use.

This move will certainly help Backblaze to gain more users to B2, which I am also a user of BTW.

If you want to learn more visit the Backblaze blog post talking about the new region.
